ETNIK, Botanica, Rome

This wall in Rome, part of the “Rome 021” exhibit curated by ADNA project, serves as a representation of the natural elements that exist in the area. These elements are subjects of study within this school by the students. As the title suggests, it highlights how, like in many metropolises, green spaces struggle to find a place to thrive amidst industrialization and heavy traffic.

The title holds a dual significance; “Botanica” is also the former name of the main road where the mural is located. This area of the city is known for its challenges, including high levels of crime and difficult living conditions. Through this mural, I aim to promote culture’s resilience in a harsh environment.

As an example, the local neighborhood’s library experienced two unfortunate incidents of arson, leading to its closure.
