MOMIES in Paris

In June 2018, artists Momies, Nebay, Seth, and 1010 created a temporary fresco titled “STREAM” in Paris, beneath the Musée d’Orsay. This artistic collaboration, led by the Itinerrance gallery in partnership with the city of Paris, spanned over several hundred square meters from the Musée d’Orsay to the Musée Jacques Chirac on the Quai Branly.

The monumental 2-kilometer-long fresco remained visible for three months, capturing the attention of Parisians and visitors alike. Each artist brought their unique touch to the artwork.

1010 created trompe-l’oeil abysses and colorful waves of green and blue against a black backdrop, adding a mysterious and captivating dimension to the mural. Momies utilized abstractions in the colors of the French flag to bring vibrancy and visual dynamism. Nebay crafted calligraphies and artistic graffiti under the Pont Alexandre III, infusing an urban and contemporary touch. Lastly, Seth presented an astonishing anamorphosis visible from the Pont de la Concorde, playing with the perception of space.

This unique artistic collaboration captivated spectators throughout the summer, highlighting the importance of culture and artistic expression in the city of Paris. Although the mural disappeared after three months, it left a lasting impression in the minds of those fortunate enough to admire it, reminding them of the creativity and vitality of the Parisian art scene.
