“Opposites agree”. Such is the proverb that imposes itself as the matrix of this exhibition. At the confluence of two styles that everything opposes, Kurar and Momies will offer to see an unusual artistic composition.

If Kurar realized his first works during the 90’s, using different techniques from graffiti to collage, through stencil and work on canvas, the artist has also essentially worked around 3D, volume and color.

Beyond the form, it is necessary to emphasize the content. Indeed, his works, very committed by the message they spread, deal with subjects as sensitive as war, religion, or the consumer society. The message is strong, carrying a rather cynical and ironic vision of the world but always punctuated with hope. This hope, the viewer can grasp it through the prism of the colors dear to the artist, where the cameo of gray comes to be counterbalanced by very bright colors, catching the eye to the guiding elements of the work. It is this confrontation of meanings and techniques that stimulates the viewer to reflect on the excesses of our society.

As for Momies, he lends his talent to the representation of an abstract world, the result of a rounded line that has forged his unique style. Although black and white occupy a predominant place in his universe, he nevertheless permits colors to invite themselves. Starting only with the three primary colors, they will then mix to create a singular and attractive color palette. His work, very inspired by the classic New York graffiti, owes its particularities to the inspiration drawn from his numerous trips to Eastern Europe, New Caledonia and the United States. An avid letterer, he has made his style evolved towards abstraction and sophistication, making the illusion of movement and visual impact his watchwords.

Where Momies and Kurar come together is mainly in the diversity they offer to their art, where materials and techniques intermingle, confront and overlap. It is thus by playing with our senses that the exhibition of the two artists will not leave any spectator indifferent.
