The exhibition “Between the Lines,” curated by the artists FODE and MOMIES, invites you to delve into their artistic world by unveiling their most recent works. Meticulously prepared over the past year, this artistic proposition provides viewers with the opportunity to explore the stylistic evolutions of these two artists, who share a common history and draw inspiration from the same artistic references.

Both emerging from the graffiti milieu, FODE and MOMIES distinguish themselves through their unique techniques and artistic approaches. FODE leans towards using solid color blocks in his creations, crafting striking graphic compositions that sometimes evoke painterly ruptures on his acrylic canvases. While the initial impression may hint at spontaneous artistic gestures, it quickly becomes evident that each artwork is the result of meticulous construction, meticulous painting techniques, and precisely layered adjustments.

On the other hand, MOMIES seamlessly integrates abstraction into the core of his lettering work, which he aptly terms “modules.” These modules serve as the visual signature of his style, allowing his work to be immediately recognizable. Rounded, free-flowing, impulsive, and industrial lines intertwine on the canvas with exquisite mastery, honoring the foundations of graffiti while offering a contemporary interpretation of abstract art. The automation in his execution, combined with his mastery of colors, creates an illusion of movement and a captivating visual rhythm. Consequently, MOMIES’ compositions exude an atmosphere that is simultaneously vibrant, meditative, and dynamic.

As we immerse ourselves in his world of lines, curves, depths, and surfaces, MOMIES beckons viewers to embark on an abstract journey. The palpable energy emanating from his works serves as a guide, leading the visitor through an artistic experience whose understanding depends on their personal feelings and interpretation.
